As a direct result of the pandemic and a need to reduce air travel Belden Inc, the global leader in transmission solutions is expanding its reach through the development of a series of physical customer innovation centres (CIC) to showcase its innovative solutions and illustrate how they securely transmit data, audio and video that is needed for today’s applications.
Belden has partnered with proAV and 2Heads to build a series of Customer Innovation Centres worldwide, the first of which is in Stuttgart, Germany. Following the very successful launch of the concept with the hybrid Grand Opening event in May 2021, work commenced to bring the rest of the vision to life.
The Stuttgart Customer Innovation Centre is an
award-winning ergonomic environment with the flexibility to be both intimate
and private, yet also open for visitors to explore.
Each area of the CIC takes a varying approach to
illustrate the benefits of Belden solutions; how they are the experts on
transmitting growing amounts of data, audio and video needed for today’s
applications.
Belden required an experiential space that could showcase
their innovative solutions; encourage collaboration and discussion, and host
demonstrations and talks with studio-quality surroundings. A beautiful space
that resonated with brand style, the Customer Innovation Center (CIC) needed to
be the backdrop for internationally streamed events; a showpiece that echoed
the new direction of the brand and invited the whole world in to witness
Belden’s technological advancements.
"When we reviewed the particular requirements of the Customer Innovation Centre project, we started looking for a vendor who could deliver the kind of experience that we wanted. proAV as an integrator had been working with Belden on its conferencing facilities very successfully and the references that they provided from other customers showed us they could perfectly deliver the technological requirements of the CICs. Also, they are a global company which means they could deliver the CIC concept in all of the locations we are looking at globally.

Our solution
Due to the need for complete flexibility proAV designed the entire space utilising a Crestron NVX AV over IP system to manage all presentation sources, video conferencing system, digital signage players and HD cameras. The routing of AV sources is managed by a centrally located network stack and Crestron control system, enabling sources to be selected in each area using wall mounted Crestron touch panels.
The largest zone in the CIC is the Town Hall, featuring a multipurpose space with a 7.7m by 2.7m, 320” Samsung 1.5mm pixel pitch LED video wall ready to display high impact digital signage content and allow for high end presentation and video conferencing solutions for up to 300 guests. A combination of Pan Acoustics beam steering loudspeakers, Shure Microflex and Catchbox wireless microphones make for an engaging and crystal-clear audio experience.
