Networked audio integration
As part of the University of Surrey's Manor Park Campus, Surrey Sports Park is one of Europe’s premier sites for elite sport, physical activity, well-being and leisure.
In 2022, the University of Surrey refurbished the SSP’s AV facilities to create an updated centralised system that offered greater control of the buildings AV systems and, as a key priority, improve the existing audio distributions. proAV was engaged to integrate the latest AV products across the leisure centre complex; working outside normal opening hours to install equipment and ensuring minimal disruption to the SSP.
Our solution
The key audio provider was QSC with various solutions deployed across the building including wall mounted, ceiling and networked loudspeakers with audio distribution supported by Q-SYS Core Processors, network audio I/O expanders and amplifiers. Additional JBL speakers are also integrated into the solutions.
For sound capture and recording, specifically in the main sporting areas, a combination of Sennheiser and AKG microphones have been installed along with Cardioid and Shotgun capsules, designed to help with audio pick up from the various sporting events.
With the SSP’s AV distribution and control, proAV integrated Crestron DigitalMedia technology to provide network AV distribution to Sony 4K Large Format Displays while Crestron touch panels manage control to a variety of spaces.
