Barco’s Open House
Last week proAV headed over to explore Barco’s Open House
event in London where they demonstrated their key products; from
the established family of ClickShare wireless collaboration
products to the new UniSee video wall displays and the weconnect
virtual classroom which will be on show ISE 2019.
Here is a glimpse of what was on show and what caught our
eye:
• For those not in the know Barco ClickShare is their
infamous, simple plug in device which enables a quick and easy
sharing experience for meetings. The range includes a variety of
models to suit all from the CS-100 for huddle rooms, CSE-200 for
enterprise rollouts in need of an enhanced layer of security
features or central management. Next up is the CSC-1, best suited
to larger meeting rooms where the 4K resolution allows four users
to present at the same time. At the biggest end of the scale is the
CSE-800, ideal for large enterprises with a boardroom where eight
users can present at once with robust security and large scale
connectivity.
• Barco Opspace is an operator workspace solution for control
rooms which is robust, flexible and most importantly scalable. It
provides easy access to apps, remote desktops and video streams
across one unified display creating a complete situation overview.
All managed by one keyboard and mouse it makes the overall
management of situations easier which means decisions can be made
quicker and more effectively.
• Next on display was their latest LCD video wall development,
the Barco UniSee. Something that has revolutionised video wall
technology this year. The UniSee has Sense X automatic calibration
which keeps the image balanced over time. The NoGap technology
reduces the image disturbance to barely noticeable and screens can
be added to an almost incomprehensible dimension. An optional
redundant power supply is also possible.
• Finally another interesting development came in the
education arena, Barco have launched the weconnect virtual
classroom as the next step in the weconnect cloud-based system
where students BYOD to the classroom. The virtual classroom is a
teaching and learning experience in an online setting. The teacher
sees and hears all students and every remote students hears
everyone talking just as if they are in the same space. The
weConnect Virtual Classroom is hosted and accessed via cloud-based
software, and accessible from any device, allowing true flexibility
and engagement.
