proAV has scored another UK first following its installation of a groundbreaking background music system at the Hilton's flagship hotel in the heart of Liverpool city centre.

The pioneering AudiaFUSION audio processor solution was the first choice of Europe's most exciting AV systems integrator because it answered the demands of the hotel's complex IT and routing infrastructure.

The brief from the Hilton Hotel was to supply and install a bespoke professional audio system throughout the restaurant and bar, various public areas and the seventh floor executive lounge. However, the real challenge was to design a high quality system around the hotels complex CAT 5 and fibre network and reduce cabling to an absolute minimum.

So, proAV turned to Biamp's AudiaFUSION solution and worked with Polar Audio, the UK's exclusive distributor for the Biamp range to ensure the product was capable of meeting the Hilton's exacting demands.

And indeed it was; AudiaFUSION is the world's first networked amplified processor to combine open-architecture Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and multi-channel amplifier technology. The result is an audio processor that can decentralise sound, power and control data for the whole system whilst automatically allocating device resources to increase efficiency and clarity and save running costs.

Polar Audio was particularly impressed with the results. A completely integrated, scaleable audio solution

proAV designed the audio system to run over a CobraNet network, the industry standard for large scale audio installations where numerous audio channels need to be transmitted to multiple locations. AudiaFUSION is CobraNet-enabled which vastly increases the parameters and flexibility of the new system and ensures this completely integrated, scaleable solution will accommodate any future AV requirements with ease.

But it wasn't just the cutting edge music distribution system that stood out in this landmark building. proAV sourced the speakers for the project from Nacsound in Italy, one of the world's most innovative acoustic research and design organisations.

The Zemi sphere shaped ceramic speakers, which use multi-directional technology, are suspended from the ceiling throughout the Hilton's bar area, perfectly complementing the modernistic architecture and interior design of this spectacular building.

The background music scheme was part of a wider AV solution; the audio visual system for the hotel's magnificent ballroom was completed in 2009.
