Rob Fitzsimmons, an AV Engineer at proAV, has been recognised for ‘going the extra mile’ during his work at the University of Salford’s Media City project by main contractor, Overbury plc.
The high profile project was handed over on time, within budget and according to the exacting standards of both Overbury and the University of Salford, which is a reflection on proAV’s commitment to engineering perfection throughout the installation. Rob Fitzsimmons was recognised with an award and shopping vouchers by Overbury for his attention to detail and for keeping levels of quality and workmanship to proAV’s benchmarked standards.
“The whole team has the same attitude towards its work; I’m pleased that I was the tradesman Overbury considered for this award.”
‘I’m really proud to be recognised by Overbury,’ says Rob. ‘I’d been onsite at Media City since April and spent a lot of time ensuring my work was snag-free before I left any room to ensure everything was fitted perfectly and working correctly. The whole team has the same attitude towards its work; I’m pleased that I was the tradesman Overbury considered for this award.’
The Media City development at Salford Quays in Manchester is one of the UK’s largest media sites for technology outside London. proAV’s project will equip University of Salford’s digital learning, teaching and research space with revolutionary technologies that will power some of the most innovative studios and labs in the media industry.
