The Joint Services Command and Staff College (JSCSC) has provided command and training at all levels for the three services of the UK's Ministry of Defence (MoD) since 1997. Recognised as a worldwide centre of excellence, the JSCSC regularly welcomes representatives of international armed forces to the extensive facilities at Shrivenham in Wiltshire.

proAV was commissioned by the MoD to deliver a new audio visual scheme design that would provide high quality replacement equipment for three of the site's key lecture theatres.

This revised scheme needed to incorporate enhanced technologies that would optimise the functionality of a system that was designed primarily to accommodate a range of multimedia presentation and communication activities.

proAV equipped each of the three specialist lecture theatres, Cunningham, Tedder and Montgomery, with an array of high performance projection equipment and input sources that fulfilled the client's pre-defined requirement for a professional, versatile presentation solution.

The upgraded systems incorporate the industry's most advanced audio visual hardware, all controlled by a flexible, intuitive suite of management technologies. Both analogue and digital computer connectivity is facilitated from the stage area and the technician's control room.

Three lecture theatres (Cunningham, Tedder and Montgomery) were equipped with specialist presentation systems that incorporate the following key components:

• Projection Design DLP high performance projectors (HD 1920 x 1080 and SXGA Plus 1400 x 1050 resolution) installed in a triple, side-by-side configuration for simultaneous emulation of predefined source inputs
• Crestron Isys G-Series Lecturn Mount matrix touch screens incorporating QuickMedia Transport Technology software and Pro 2 Control System with professional dual-bus architecture
• Multiple input sources including Denon DVD player, Panasonic VHS/DVD/HDD recorder, Panasonic CCD convertible camera, Cabletime MediaStar TV receiver for building-wide TV distribution
• Bespoke media furniture including Lightning Design single lecturns incorporating SMART Sympodium and MW Video Systems control room desks
