Rotherham is one of four metropolitan districts which make up South Yorkshire and provides services to a population of more than 250,000 residents. The full council comprises 63 councillors and services are led by the council’s Strategic Leadership Team (SLT) of chief officers.

Rotherham Town Hall was built in 1929 in the town’s most prestigious area with facilities for council business, including hearings and meetings and is also a splendid historical location for marriage ceremonies and receptions.

When Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council made the decision to refurbish the Town Hall Building, proAV was successfully selected following a tendering process to deliver a fully-integrated audio visual solution that would complement the stunning interior styling.

The result is an outstanding range of industry-leading technologies and equipment that has helped Rotherham Town Council deliver a more accessible and interactive experience for everyone who uses the refurbished facilities. Ian Wallington, proAV

proAV designed an innovative scheme for the Town Hall, incorporating a wide range of audio visual facilities, including high definition projection, presentation, display and delegate microphone systems.

The result is an outstanding range of industry-leading technologies and equipment that has helped Rotherham Town Council deliver a more accessible and interactive experience for everyone who uses the refurbished facilities.

The newly-refurbished Rotherham Town Hall was equipped with a number of professional AV technologies, including:

Meeting Rooms 1 and 5

Both meeting rooms were equipped with the following:

  • 70” High Definition1920x1080 pixel LCD display screens with side-mounted loudspeakers and induction loop, wall-mounted

Both committee rooms were equipped with the following:

  • 70” High Definition 1920x1080 pixel LCD display screens with side-mounted loudspeakers and induction loop, wall-mounted
  • AV interfacing via table connection boxes

Council Chamber

  • High Definition 10,000 ANSI lumen video/data projector with zoom lens, wall-mounted
  • 159” electric front projection screen
  • 4 x 32” LCD displays for public gallery, ceiling-mounted
  • 2 x High Definition 42” LCD display repeater screens for the top table
  • Input sources including DVD, CD, Freeview TV receiver
  • RGBHV and audio matrix video switcher
  • Audio system including digital signal processor, 2 x front of house wall-mounted loudspeakers, 4 x voice reinforcement and public gallery loudspeakers, tie-clip and handheld microphone systems and combined EQ and feedback controller
  • Delegate microphone system including central control unit, 44 x flush-mounted chairman and delegate microphone units, 44 x gooseneck microphones, 23 x dual delegate units, laptop PC for system control

Function Room

  • High resolution 16:10 4,000 ANSI lumens video/data projector with zoom lens, ceiling-mounted
  • 133” electric wide front projection screen
  • Input sources including DVD, CD, Freeview TV receiver
  • RGBHV and audio matrix video switcher
  • Audio system including digital signal processor, 2 x front of house wall-mounted loudspeakers, tie-clip and handheld microphone systems and combined EQ and feedback controller
  • Control system processor with wireless touchscreen control panel including docking/charging unit and RF gateway
