A suite of professional projection systems, display systems and other wide-ranging AV equipment was installed extensively across Lancaster University’s teaching and presentation rooms in several coordinated campus upgrade phases.
Extensive professional AV presentation systems
As part of its commitment to implement a standard design across all teaching spaces and meeting rooms, Lancaster University invited proAV to deliver extensive professional audio visual presentation systems for use throughout the institution’s campus.
A wide range of specialist projection and display systems for the university’s teaching and presentation facilities required an innovative audio visual solution throughout.
An integrated solution was delivered on time, within budget and according to the client’s precise specification. proAV’s audio visual systems incorporated the very latest cutting-edge technology within a solution that included professional projection systems, display systems and a range of audio visual control equipment.
All were installed extensively across the university’s teaching and presentation rooms in several coordinated campus upgrade phases.
The phased installation of Lancaster University’s audio visual solution incorporated a number of key technologies, including:
Phase One
9 Seminar Rooms
The seminar rooms were each equipped with the following:
- LCD 4000 ANSI WXGA widescreen projection system, ceiling-mounted
- 2350 x 1320mm electric projection screen in 16:9 format
- 16:9 Sympodium acting as PC control and active tablet
- AV input sources for programme sound and voice reinforcement, including ceiling and surface-mounted speakers, UHF lapel/radio microphone, lectern microphone, DVD player and XGA visualiser
- Control via 5” lectern-mounted touchpanel with full management of audio and visual input sources including remote management
- Induction loop system
- Teammate Trainer Pro Lectern allowing multiple connectivity and providing secure housing for both touch panel and visualiser
- Furniture including VES whiteboards, flipchart easel, analogue clock and shock alarm
Colloquium Rooms
2 lecture theatres, Frankland and Cavendish, were each equipped with the following:
- LCD 4000 ANSI WXGA widescreen projection system, wall-mounted
- 2350 x 1320mm electric projection screen in 16:9 format
- 16:9 Sympodium acting as PC control and active tablet
- AV input sources for programme sound and voice reinforcement, including ceiling speakers, UHF lapel/radio microphone, lectern microphone, DVD player and XGA visualiser
- Control via 10” lectern-mounted touchpanel with full management of audio and visual input sources including remote management

ISS Building
3 meeting rooms, 4 display areas and Director’s Office were equipped with the following:
- 2 meeting rooms and 4 display areas were equipped with 40” wall-mounted HD LCD displays with built-in speaker system
- 1 meeting room was equipped with 40” HD LCD display with built-in speaker system mounted on mobile display stand incorporating video conferencing system
- The Director’s Office was equipped with 40” HD Display with built-in speaker system mounted on mobile display stand
County South Lecture Theatre
- LCD 6500 ANSI WXGA widescreen projection system, wall-mounted

- 4000 x 22500mm fixed frame projection screen in 16:9 format
- 16:9 Sympodium acting as PC control and active tablet
- Video input sources including Blu-ray HD DVD, network PC with DVI output, SXGA visualiser
- Audio input sources for programme sound and voice reinforcement, including front of house speakers, surround sound system and audio processing system, UHF lapel /radio microphone and lectern microphone
- Control via 10” lectern-mounted touchpanel with full management of AV input sources including remote management
- Induction loop system
- Teammate Tutor Dual Lectern allowing multiple connectivity and providing secure housing for touchpanel and visualiser

- 4 x 42” wall-mounted LCD displays with Freeview, each with individual wall-mounted push button control

- Control via wall-mounted push button control panels with auxiliary inputs
County Main Seminar Rooms Reprogram
- Reprogramming of 7 existing 5” control touchpanels to suit the implemented standard design across campus and allowing for remote management
