BP Canary Wharf

BP is one of the world's largest integrated energy corporations with sites in 100 countries over six continents. Its office at 20 Canada Square in London's Canary Wharf is home to over 2200 employees and contractors who work in a purpose-built trading and financial office. The building houses a range of commercial operations and digital communications technology.

proAV was asked to deliver an extensive suite of high quality audio visual, video and video conferencing, television and managed content distribution solutions for the company's new offices, training rooms and trading floors at the Canary Wharf business district in London.

Cutting-edge technology was deployed throughout six floors of the building, incorporating a suite of the industry's most innovative AV systems. These include a sophisticated audio and video conferencing delivery, fully-interactive multimedia presentation facilities, building-wide TV and RGB distribution systems and a world clock time-zone display system.

BP now enjoys a building with world class communication and presentation systems which benefit the organisation in a number of ways, including:

  • Effective, fast communication and dissemination of information to staff
  • The ability to display and distribute mission-critical information about events which could drastically affect the market to the trading team in an effective and controlled manner

  • 3 x 1 60" DLP video wall for multimedia information display
  • Input sources including DVD, SVHS, TV, dedicated and networked PCs

Meeting Rooms (57 no.)

33 Type A meeting rooms located on Levels One, Two, Three, Four and Five, each equipped with the following:

  • 30"/40"/50" LCD display screen
  • Input sources including dedicated PC tablet and networked laptop PC with audio
  • Ceiling speakers
  • Crestron remote control system with full management of audio, visual and environmental controls

13 Type B meeting rooms located on Levels One, Two, Three, Four and Five, each equipped with the following:

  • 40"/50" display screen
  • Input sources including DVD, SVHS, TV, dedicated PC tablet and networked laptop PC
  • Ceiling speakers
  • Crestron remote control system with full management of audio, visual and environmental controls

9 Type C meeting rooms located on Levels Two, Three, Four and Five, each equipped with the following:

  • 2 x 30"/40"/50"/60" display screens
  • Full audio and video conferencing and recording facilities
  • Table microphones and ceiling speakers
  • Input sources including DVD, SVHS, TV, dedicated PC tablet and networked laptop PC

2 Type D meeting rooms located on Levels One (Crisis Centre) and Two, each equipped with the following:

  • Dual rear projection system

  • Table and retractable ceiling microphones and ceiling speakers

Boardroom (Level Three)

Trading Floors

2 trading floors located on Levels One and Two, each equipped with the following:

  • 17/18 x 40" Ceiling suspended LCD display screens
  • Input sources including TV and Business TV
  • Voice reinforcement system incorporating ceiling speakers and wireless microphones
  • Five zone world clock system fed via GPS master clock
  • Crestron remote control system with management of system power, audio/video sources and TV channel selection

Training Rooms

4 training rooms located on Level Five, each equipped with the following:

  • Electric front projection screen with ceiling mounted LCD data/ video projector
  • Wireless microphones and ceiling speakers
  • Input sources including DVD, SVHS, TV, dedicated PC tablet and networked laptop PC
  • Crestron remote control system with full management of audio, visual and environmental controls

Cafes

3 cafes located on Levels One, Two and Three, each equipped with the following:

  • 50" plasma screen for video and computer display

1 Cafe Presentation Area located on Level One, equipped with the following:

  • Full audio and video conferencing and recording facilities

1 Cafe Presentation Screen located on Level Three, equipped with the following:

5 lift lobbies located on Levels One, Two, Three, Four and Five, each equipped with the following:

  • Input sources including TV and BTV generated from BP content management system, centrally controlled

General Office Displays

3 General Office Displays located on Levels Three, Four and Five, each equipped with the following:

  • 1/5/2 x 40" plasma screens, ceiling mounted for video and computer display
  • Ceiling speakers
  • Input sources including TV and Business TV

Media Zone (Level Three)

  • 4 x 40" LCD display screens with interactive touch panel overlays
  • Input sources including DVD, SVHS, TV, dedicated PC and speaker system
  • Crestron remote control system with full management of audio, visual and environmental controls
  • Remote control system with full management of audio, visual and environmental controls

Breakout Area (Level Four)

  • 50" plasma screen, ceiling mounted for video and computer display

TV Distribution System

  • TV and satellite Cat 6 distribution system providing a TV service to all AV areas
  • 5 x Freeview TV/satellite channels (digital service)

  • Distribution of announcement and presentation from two simultaneous areas to any end points
